Also known as the Panthera tigris, it is the largest living member of the cat family, an exceptional swimmer, renowned for its solitary nature, striking orange coat with dark stripes, and an exceptional predatory power. The Royal Bengal Tiger plays a vital role in maintaining the balance of Sundarbans's ecosystem.

Other few predators of the forest are the saltwater/estuarine crocodiles, water monitor lizards, leopard cats, fishing cats, jungle cats and civet cats.

Spotted deer (Chital), Rhesus Macaque, mudskippers, wild boars, jungle fowl, Gangetic and Irrawaddy dolphins, smooth-coated otters are few common sightings by our guests.

Sundarbans have a variety of venomous and non-venomous snakes including the King Cobra, Indian python, green vine snakes etc.

It is a haven for variety of water and migratory birds. The best season to visit Sundarbans is pre-winter to post-winter because during this period of time the forest has many visitors - like the Migratory birds such as the Goliath Heron, black cap kingfisher etc. 10 out of 12 species of kingfishers found in India resides in the Sundarbans (including the brown winged and collared kingfishers).
